Luis de Miranda, born 1971, has been identified as a philosopher and novelist. Paris has published his first 13 books, essays or fiction – for example L’Art d’être libres au temps des automates (The Art of Being Free in the Era of Automata). Some of his texts have been translated into English, Arabic, Spanish, Turkish. Is a new life possible? was co-translated by Miranda and published as a peer-reviewed essay with the Edinburgh University Press (Deleuze studies). Luis de Miranda is now undertaking research at he University of Edinburgh, where he is the founder and director of The Crag (Creation of Reality Group) and of the Anthrobotics Cluster. His ongoing PhD research is on the concept of Esprit de corps and its relation to social creation. Miranda’s last public conference in Paris (at the Nuit Blanche) was described as part of ‘the cutting edge of thecutting edge’ (Time Out Paris).
